Cranbrook Composers' Podcasts featured in the News!

The premiere music education technology podcast Ed Tech Musician has featured Cranbrook Composers in their 33rd podcast "Educasting 3". They mention us about 46 minutes into their podcast. Their podcast is a great resource for you to learn about podcasting in music education. You can subscribe to their podcast in Apple's iTunes by clicking here.

The School Library Journal recently interviewed Mr. Ruthmann about our use of Wiki's to support our composing process in Music Triarts class. Our Wiki is an emergent encyclopedia of music composing created by the students. As we figure out ways to imporove our compositions and new features of the software, we add them to our Wiki. The article featuring our Wiki will be up in November. We will post the article here when it's online.

Be on the lookout for an article in the Washington Post about Cranbrook Composers' Podcasts. Last week, Mr. Ruthmann was interviewed by Post reporter Fern Shen about the podcasts students are creating in our classes. We will post a link to the article here when it's published!

Weekly Student Produced Podcasts

A new feature for our website is Podcasting! Each week students at both Kingswood and Vaughan Middle Schools will assemble podcasts of their original compositions. Download iTunes to listen to the podcasts. Once iTunes is launched go to the "Advanced" menu and select "Subscribe to podcast...". Enter http://feeds.feedburner.com/CranbrookComposers into the box to subscribe to our weekly podcasts!

  Coming Soon!

Cranbrook Composers Records - We're creating our own record label! Each class will put together a sampler CD of the class' "greatest hits" of the year. Proceeds from the sale of our music will benefit the performing arts department and will help raise money for class supplies and the purchase of new equipment. Check back soon for more information.
